Skid Mounted VPSA Oxygen Generator

Skid Mounted VPSA Oxygen Generator

If your plant needs 50 to 1000 Nm³/h of oxygen, delivered cylinders or liquid tanks are not the only option. An on‑site generation system cuts the logistics cost and removes the risk of regular truck deliveries. The skid mounted VPSA oxygen generator is a practical choice for that. It comes fully assembled on a steel skid – adsorption vessels, blower, vacuum pump, valves, PLC, all mounted and wired at the factory.

Product Introduction

If your plant needs 50 to 1000 Nm³/h of oxygen, delivered cylinders or liquid tanks are not the only option. An on‑site generation system cuts the logistics cost and removes the risk of regular truck deliveries. The skid mounted VPSA oxygen generator is a practical choice for that. It comes fully assembled on a steel skid – adsorption vessels, blower, vacuum pump, valves, PLC, all mounted and wired at the factory. Once it arrives, you connect power and piping, and it starts producing 90–94% oxygen.

Why Skid Mounted Matters

Some buyers ask: why not build it on site? The answer is simple. A skid mounted VPSA oxygen generator arrives pre‑tested. The piping is already checked for leaks. The valve timing is tuned. The wiring is done. You save weeks of field assembly and avoid mistakes that often happen when local crews put things together from loose parts. For plant managers, this means one clear delivery date and a much shorter startup.

How It Works

VPSA stands for Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption. Here is the real engineering logic:

  • Air goes through a filter, then a blower pushes it into the adsorber vessel filled with zeolite.
  • The zeolite holds nitrogen under pressure, letting oxygen pass through.
  • Instead of venting to atmosphere (like PSA does), a vacuum pump pulls the nitrogen out. That vacuum step saves energy – roughly 15‑20% less power than a standard PSA at the same flow.
  • Two vessels alternate: one produces oxygen while the other regenerates under vacuum.

That cycle runs continuously. The PLC handles the valve switching. No complicated programming needed from your side.

What You Get With This Generator

When we deliver a skid mounted VPSA oxygen generator, the scope is straightforward:

  • Skid unit (adsorbers, blower, vacuum pump, valves)
  • Inlet air filter and silencer
  • Oxygen buffer tank (located next to the skid)
  • PLC panel with a 7‑inch touch screen
  • Printed documentation: P&ID, electrical diagram, operation manual

We do not hide items in fine print. What you see in the quotation is what shows up on the truck.

Certifications and Compliance

Different markets ask for different papers. We build to:

  • Pressure vessels: GB/T 150 standard. ASME is optional if your project requires it.
  • Electrical: IEC or UL (tell us which one you need)
  • Machine safety: ISO 12100
  • Oxygen analyzer: paramagnetic or electrochemical, 4‑20mA output

CE and EAC certification packages are available. We do not assume you need them – we ask first.

Delivery and Field Service

Lead time for a standard unit: 60 to 75 days. That includes a factory acceptance test (FAT) where you can witness the machine running on air before it is disassembled and shipped.

Once on site, we provide:

  • One technician for installation supervision (3‑5 days typical)
  • Startup and commissioning
  • Operator training – usually two days, enough for your team to handle normal operation and basic troubleshooting

Remote support is also possible. The PLC can be fitted with a remote access module (your network security permitting). Our engineer can then log in to check valve timing or pressure trends without flying in.

Where This Equipment Is Used

We have seen skid mounted VPSA oxygen generator units running in these industries:

  • Glass melting – oxy‑fuel burners
  • Pulp and paper – lime kiln enrichment, black liquor oxidation
  • Ozone generation – feeding 90%+ oxygen to ozone generators
  • Small to mid‑size chemical reactors – oxidation steps

We are not listing customer names here. Every site is different. But if your application matches one of the above, VPSA is likely worth a look.

How to Start a Conversation

If you are evaluating an on‑site oxygen system, send us three numbers:

  1. Desired purity (usually 90–93%)
  2. Continuous flow in Nm³/h
  3. Your local electricity cost (USD/kWh)

We will reply with a one‑page estimate: equipment footprint, expected power draw, and a simple payback period versus liquid oxygen. No pressure, no long sales pitch.

A Final Note from Shenger Gas

We are ShengerGan Gas. We build VPSA and PSA equipment for a living. What we do not do is oversell. If your flow is too small for VPSA, we will tell you to look at a PSA unit instead. If your purity requirement is 99%, we will tell you VPSA is not the right technology. That said, for the right flow range – roughly 100 to 500 Nm³/h – a skid mounted VPSA oxygen generator is often the most balanced solution in terms of upfront cost and long‑term power bills. We have been doing this long enough to know when to say yes and when to say no. That is the honest engineering we stand for.
