
Nitrogen For Lithium Battery Production
Shenger Gas specializes in providing nitrogen for lithium battery production. This system uses air as raw material and continuously and stably generates high-purity nitrogen through cryogenic air separation or pressure swing adsorption (PSA) processes, providing an oxygen-free and water-free protective atmosphere for lithium battery pole piece coating, positive and negative electrode sintering, electrolyte filling, packaging, storage and other links.
During the lithium battery manufacturing process, oxygen and moisture can cause oxidation, moisture absorption or decomposition reactions of active materials, while high-purity nitrogen ensures the stability and safety of the production environment. Shenger Gas' equipment covers PSA, VPSA and cryogenic nitrogen production series, and is suitable for multi-scenario applications from small and medium-sized battery cell factories to 10,000-ton lithium battery cathode material bases.

Working principle
Shenger Gas nitrogen generator can adopt two core technical routes according to different application scenarios:
1. PSA pressure swing adsorption nitrogen production
By utilizing the characteristics of carbon molecular sieve (CMS) to have different adsorption rates of oxygen and nitrogen under different pressures, high-purity nitrogen is separated from the air through the cycle process of "pressure adsorption-decompression desorption". This solution has compact structure, fast start-up and low energy consumption, and is suitable for lithium power plants with daily consumption of 100 to 2000 Nm³/h.
2. Nitrogen production by cryogenic air separation
The air is deeply cooled to below −180°C, and nitrogen, oxygen, argon and other gases are separated through a distillation tower to obtain ultra-high purity nitrogen (99.999%). This solution is particularly suitable for occasions with extremely high purity requirements, such as sintering of large-scale cathode materials and high-temperature protection of nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary systems.
System structure composition
A typical nitrogen for lithium battery production system includes the following main modules:
- Air compressor system: provides compressed air raw materials;
- Air purification system: dust removal, oil removal, water removal, and CO₂ removal to ensure that the air entering the host is clean;
- Adsorption tower/cold box system: core separation unit to achieve oxygen and nitrogen separation;
- Nitrogen buffer tank: balance pressure and stabilize flow;
- Control system (PLC + touch screen): automated operation, real-time display of purity, flow, pressure, energy consumption and other parameters;
- Optional drying device (SER/SRL series): achieves a dew point below −60°C to ensure ultra-low humidity requirements in the battery dry room and coating environment.
