Product Introduction

In modern food packaging operations, nitrogen is widely used to extend shelf life, reduce oxidation, and maintain product quality through modified atmosphere packaging (MAP). A Containerized nitrogen plant for food packaging integrates the complete on-site nitrogen generation system into a standardized container, enabling fast deployment, stable operation, and predictable operating cost.

Developed and supplied by Shenger Gas, this solution is designed for food manufacturers seeking to replace bottled nitrogen or liquid nitrogen with a safer and more economical on-site supply, especially in snack foods, fresh produce, meat processing, bakery products, and ready-to-eat meals.

Process Principle and System Configuration

The Containerized nitrogen plant for food packaging is typically based on proven PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) technology.

1. Working Principle

  • Ambient air is compressed and pre-treated to remove dust, oil, and moisture.
  • The purified air passes through carbon molecular sieve (CMS) beds.
  • Oxygen, CO₂, and trace gases are preferentially adsorbed.
  • Nitrogen is collected as product gas, while adsorbents are regenerated cyclically.
  • Continuous nitrogen output is achieved through alternating adsorption cycles.

2. Integrated Structure

  • Air compressor and after-cooling system
  • Air purification unit (filters and dryer)
  • PSA nitrogen generation module
  • Nitrogen buffer tank and pressure control
  • PLC-based automatic control system
  • Electrical and piping systems integrated inside container

The containerized layout simplifies site installation and ensures consistent factory-level assembly quality.

Industrial Applications and Project Experience

A Containerized nitrogen plant for food packaging is well suited for production sites where flexibility, hygiene, and continuous supply are critical.

Typical applications include:

  • Snack food and nut packaging lines
  • Fresh meat and seafood MAP systems
  • Bakery and confectionery packaging
  • Fresh fruit and vegetable storage
  • Coffee and dairy product packaging

In multiple food processing projects, containerized nitrogen systems have been deployed adjacent to packaging lines, reducing nitrogen supply cost while improving supply stability compared with bottled gas logistics.

Delivery Model and Customization Capability

Each Containerized nitrogen plant for food packaging is factory-assembled, tested, and commissioned prior to shipment.

  • Standard or customized container sizes available
  • Flow, purity, and redundancy tailored to packaging line demand
  • Optional integration with MAP equipment and gas distribution manifolds
  • Designed for rapid installation and commissioning on site

This delivery model minimizes on-site construction work and shortens project schedules.
