Cryogenic Air Separation System
Our cryogenic air separation system adopts internationally advanced low-temperature distillation technology and serves as a core industrial solution for large-scale production of high-purity oxygen, nitrogen, and argon. By cooling ambient air to its liquefaction temperature and separating components based on their boiling point differences, it provides stable and reliable gas supply for metallurgy, chemical processing, healthcare, electronics, and new-energy industries. With outstanding energy efficiency, superior operating reliability, and flexible customization capabilities, Shenger Gas systems have become trusted solutions for industrial clients worldwide.
Working Principle and Core Structure
This system is based on a mature cryogenic air separation system process, following clear engineering steps:
1. Air Purification and Compression
Ambient air is filtered to remove dust and impurities, then compressed to a designated pressure by multi-stage compressors.
2. Pre-Cooling and Purification
Compressed air is cooled and sent into molecular-sieve adsorbers to thoroughly remove moisture, CO₂, and hydrocarbons-crucial for safe low-temperature operation.
3. Heat Exchange and Liquefaction
Clean air is cooled close to its liquefaction point through counter-flow heat exchange with low-temperature product streams in the main heat exchanger.
4. Cryogenic Distillation
Liquefied air enters a double-column distillation system (lower and upper towers). Utilizing the difference in boiling points between oxygen (–183°C), nitrogen (–196°C), and argon, repeated vaporization-condensation stages occur on trays, resulting in high-purity nitrogen at the top, high-purity oxygen at the bottom, and crude argon from a side draw.
5. Product Delivery and Storage
Separated gases are rewarmed to ambient temperature via the main heat exchanger and delivered to pipelines or stored in liquid form after compression.
Core structural units include: air compression system, pre-cooling and purification system, plate-fin main heat exchanger, double-column distillation system, turbine-expander refrigeration system, and advanced DCS/PLC integrated control system.

Temperature and Energy Consumption Indicators
1. Low-temperature operating range:
The core separation process is conducted at –175°C to –195°C, requiring stringent cryogenic design and insulation performance.
2. Energy efficiency:
Specific power consumption (kWh/Nm³ O₂) is a key technical indicator for a cryogenic air separation system. Through optimized process design, high-efficiency trays/packing, and thermal-energy recovery technologies, our systems ensure industry-leading performance. Consumption is calculated precisely based on product type, capacity, and delivery pressure.
